Who are we?
We are a small family business founded in January of 2019 as we began our quest for financial independence. Within the first three months, we acquired 20 rental units across two properties. In just a short period of time, we observed firsthand the power of real estate investing!!
Why real estate and not stocks and bonds?
After spending much of our adult lives saving and investing with financial planners, it became clear that we had no idea where our money was being invested or why our investment accounts actually had less than the total amount we had been putting into them over the years. We certainly weren’t seeing an increase to our monthly income from these investments. It appeared we would have been better off putting our money in a low interest savings account, at least then our money would have been making money!
Researching our options, buying real estate properties and renting them out seemed to make the most sense. For one, we end up owning an actual tangible asset that we can go visit and see. Our research also found that the stock market provides an average of 6-7% return on one’s investments, without any of the tax benefits of owning real estate, I might add. Also, the risk of investing in the stock market is well-known, because at any moment you could loose a great deal of your money.
While there are risk in real estate, the returns are typically better, the tax benefits are substantial and we, as the investor, can mitigate much of these risk through due diligence and forcing appreciation of assets, all while owning a performing income stream providing regular cash flow. Basically we have more control over the profit and risk of a physical asset, instead of watching a bunch of numbers go up and down on a screen. In the end, while I do not understand when or how or why the stocks do whatever it is they do, I do understand cashing rent checks each month.
Along the way, we have learned a lot about what we like and don’t like in terms of what it takes to acquire, secure and manage rental property assets. In fact, there were many fears that everyone experiences which had prevented us from investing in real estate in the past. Taken what we’ve learned, we want to teach, inform and create an investing environment for everyone interested in “making your money work for you”.
Our Vision
The goal is to work together and build wealth as a team through the help of developing a community between like minded individuals. We want to provide a platform for people who want to invest in real estate, but do not have time to take part in all the nitty-gritty details and hard work involved. We also want to inform and provide everyone the power to go forward and invest in real estate on their own.
